Progress Continues at Civic Park

This summer saw significant changes to the landscape of Civic Park. From the fieldhouse to the field, the site underwent major changes as we continue to work toward opening the facility next spring.

In June, Chambers Construction installed the steel framework for the Kidsports Fieldhouse. Since then, work has continued on the exterior walls and the concrete pad has been poured underneath the courts.

The 20th Avenue Improvement Project also began in June as we prepared to extend 20th Avenue from Willamette Street to Amazon Parkway. Paving is complete and curbs have been installed along the new section of 20th Avenue.

This past month saw significant progress on the field side of the site. Chambers oversaw installation of the drainage system for the field in July. The summer concluded with laying the turf for the field during the last two weeks of August. The field is initially lined for soccer but will be lined for lacrosse, rugby, football, or ultimate frisbee as-needed. Curbing will be installed around the field in the first part of September.

The more progress we make at the site, the more excited we are for opening day of Civic Park. It’s incredible to see the vision for the site becoming a reality. These accomplishments wouldn’t be possible without overwhelming support from our community. If you’d like to support Civic Park, please click here.
