Phase 2 is Complete!

Aerial view of the facility, looking southwestEugene Civic Alliance has finished Phase 2 of the Civic Park project with the completion of new architectural renderings and a construction budget for the Civic Park facility.

We are excited to be able to share our vision for Civic Park through the new design. This vision extends beyond the square footage of the building and the technical specifications of the field to the programs that the venue will host.

The facility will include programs aimed at increasing the overall level of physical activity of children in our community. The Aspen Institute has identified eight steps that communities can take to “help every child become physically active through sports. These steps include:Ask kids what they want

  • Reintroduce free play
  • Encourage sport sampling
  • Revitalize in-town leagues
  • Think small
  • Design for development
  • Train all coaches
  • Emphasize prevention

The planning and daily operations of the Fieldhouse will incorporate these strategies to promote positive sports experiences for every child in our community.

Civic Park will have a positive impact on the local economy. By hosting sports tournaments, community events, and championship games, Civic Park will draw visitors from out of town who will support local restaurants, hotels, and other businesses. Events like these, combined with income from other facility rentals, will also help make Civic Park a financially self-sufficient establishment.

The completion of Phase 2 of the Civic Park project has garnered a lot of media attention for the project. Check out the local media coverage below.
