ECA is looking for two interns to join our team this spring and summer. As we continue to expand our community outreach efforts for the Campaign for Civic Park, we need assistance with event planning and social media marketing. These two internships offer valuable work experience and the opportunity to be involved in an exciting community-focused project. Social Media Intern

Job Summary
Eugene Civic Alliance (ECA) is looking for a Social Media Intern to join our team. The internship will be approximately 10-15 hours per week. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including various social media sites. The Social Media Intern will be responsible for creating digital and social media content, monitoring and posting on blogs and social networks, preparing e-newsletters, participating in online outreach and promotion, and ensuring digital media supports ECA’s overall marketing goals. Those looking to gain valuable online media experience with a growing nonprofit organization are encouraged to apply.

Internship Terms and Benefits
The internship runs April through August, but dates are open to discussion. The position is unpaid but offers valuable benefits including but not limited to: hands-on experience planning and executing online marketing campaigns, networking opportunities with business and community leaders, opportunity to attend high-level meetings, and personal project feedback from experienced supervisors.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work with the Media and Communications Director to create and implement campaigns
  • Develop content calendars on a weekly and monthly basis for ECA’s social/digital media
  • Monitor analytics with social media team to identify viable ideas
  • Create engaging blog, e-newsletter and social media content
  • Expand social media use to include live-streams and stories
  • Provide support to our marketing team at live events
  • Ensure content from sponsors is delivered according to sponsorship agreements

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in social media/marketing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Associates’ degree or higher
  • Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights
  • Experience with Google AdWords
  • Basic knowledge of photo editing software

Events Intern

Job Summary
Eugene Civic Alliance (ECA) is looking for a Community Engagement and Events Intern to assist with all facets of special event planning. The internship will be approximately 10 hours per week. As an intern, you will work directly with the Community Development Officer in planning, supporting and executing a wide range of events. This person will also assist with some administrative duties as needed. Those looking to gain valuable event management experience with a growing nonprofit organization are encouraged to apply.

The internship runs April through August, but dates are open to discussion. The position is unpaid but offers valuable benefits including but not limited to: hands-on experience in event planning and organization, networking opportunities with business and community leaders, opportunity to attend high-level meetings, and personal project feedback from experienced supervisors.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work with the Community Development Officer to plan and execute events
  • Recruit volunteers for larger events
  • Set up ECA activations at community events
  • Solicit donations for events (in-kind donations, raffle prizes, etc.)
  • Assist with pre- and post-event tasks

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years’ experience in event planning/management
  • Excellent organization and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Associates’ degree or higher
  • Experience with fundraising and/or donation procurement
  • Experience preparing and shipping direct mailers
