Eugene Civic Alliance Welcomes New Marketing Director

Eugene Civic Alliance welcomes Monica Hernandez to the ECA team!

Monica was hired in September as the Director of Marketing and Communications. She is the creative director for Civic Park and will oversee marketing for the recreation facility and the Civic Park capital campaign. She is a graduate of Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University, but the eastern Oregonian is no stranger to the Willamette Valley. She first called Eugene home when she started her career at KEZI 9 News in 2015.

As the director of marketing and communication, Monica will keep the community up-to-date on construction at Civic Park, fundraising efforts, and ECA events. She will also be the new media contact for Eugene Civic Alliance and Civic Park.

“We’re excited to have her working with us, especially as we finish our fundraising efforts and welcome the community to a new Civic Park,” says Nancy Webber, ECA executive director. “Her experience in local news, as well as website and social media management, is a valuable asset.”

Growing up, Monica played soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, and tennis. She’s an advocate of sports sampling, one of Kidsports’ primary goals. She also volunteers her time to coaching youth basketball.

“I’m excited to make a difference in the life of children who are exploring exciting ways to stay fit and making friends along the way,” she says.

Monica looks forward to seeing people at Civic to watch movies, listen to concerts, and experience a variety of community events in addition to sporting events.
