Celebrating Girls’ Sports at Civic Park

Here at ECA, we are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of women in our community. That’s why we’re excited to launch an initiative that will help Civic Park to recognize the impact sports can have in a girl’s life.

Playing sports provides girls with physical, mental, and emotional benefits. Girls who play sports are more likely to graduate from high school and attend college. Playing sports also improves self-confidence and emotional resilience, decreases the risk of developing 13 types of cancer, and decreases the likelihood of teenage pregnancy.  And considering that 96% of female C-suite executives played youth sports, it’s clear that sports provide girls with powerful tools for shaping their future.

In recognition of the importance of women’s sports, we are naming one of the four courts inside the Kidsports Fieldhouse, “Court IX.” The name will honor Title IX, the groundbreaking legislation that provides girls with equal access to sports.

In the coming months, we will host events and fundraisers specifically focused around Court IX. You can help us recognize the value of providing girls with a level playing field by contributing to the Court IX fund. To support this effort, just click the “donate” button in the top right corner of our website and select “in another’s name” from the donation attribution options. Then just type in “Court IX” in the box marked “Donation in name of…”

We are excited about this opportunity to celebrate the empowering nature of sports and we look forward to hosting Court IX events and fundraisers in the near future. If you’d like to learn more about this effort, or have an idea for a Court IX fundraiser, please feel free to contact us.
